 Top Ten Tuesday (1)
1. Mirror, Mirror by Gregory Maguire
I honestly have no idea WHY I haven’t read this one yet… I still really want to!
2. The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien
I just never seem to be in the mood to read The Hobbit… I pick it up and set it down at least once a month!

3. The Alchemyst by Michael Scott
I was so pumped to start this series… then something better came along.
4. Drop Dead Beautiful by Jackie Collins
I was in love with this cover, just never had the urge to actually read it! I think I got it on sale for like $3.99 too. So that aided my compulsive buying decision!

It seems as if everyone but me has read and loved Jane Austen, and for the moment it is staying that way.
Okay… so per usual I’m being my under achieving self and only posting 5 instead of 10. I can’t wait to see what Top Ten everyone else chose to do!

This post has been removed by the author.

I did the exact same thing with The Alchemyst. I bought it and left it for about a year. But after I read it, I felt so stupid for waiting! It was great!

  3. Missie says:

LOL! Something better always comes along… like IIS! And you haven't read any JA? I'd recommend Persuasion. It's MY FAVORITE so that is all that matters.

  4. I haven't read most of the books you listed so I can't tell you if you are missing out. But I would give Jane Austen a try…or watch a movie and see if you should go for it.

  5. Sophia says:

Emma's my favourite Jane Austen, you should definitely give it a try. It even features in my top ten list this week!

  6. Cyndi M. says:

Oh my gosh, I have that same exact Jane Austen collection! I've only read Pride and Prejudice…

  7. Great list but I'm sad to admit I haven't read any of these.

  8. It's frustrating to buy books and then stuff them under my bed. I do this so often that it is sad. Here's my post for Top Ten Tuesday, a list of the books that most intimidate me.And I'll be part of the Easter Eggstravaganza Blog Hop Giveaway tomorrow. I hope you will stop by and enter my giveaways to try to win some great prizes.

  9. Gregory Maguire can be hit or total miss with me. He just isn't a consistant writer for me. So, personally, I can see why you haven't picked it up. Plus, some books end up like that on my shelves too. :)

  10. booknympho says:

Haven't heard of some of these but the complete novels of Jane Austen must be huge! No wonder you haven't picked it up yet! lol

Very interesting Top Ten list topic. But I definitely have quite the library of books that are on my bookshelves for months on end and have not been read yet. The current books are: Water for Elephants, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, and The Pillars of the World. Here is my Top Ten list.~New Follower

This was a fun one that I actually wrote about the first time around. You should give at least one Jane Austen a try, though a friend of mine, whose taste in books generally meshes well with mine, just professed that he just can't do Jane Austen. Oh, well.

  13. OMG Jane Austen is my idol! I would definitely recommend starting with Pride & Prejudice =) It's the classic. But I also totally love Persuasion and Northanger Abbey. I'm behind on my Tolkien too =

  14. Looks like you got your hands on a few classics! I'd start with the Jane Austen first! :-DLisa @ <a href=">Once Upon A Chapter</a>

  15. Out of the ones you listed–I have only read The Hobbit and Most of the Complete Novels of Jane Austin.

  16. I agree with Missy about Persuasion being great. So was Emma. (I love Jane Austen.) Also, you need to hurry up and read Mirror, Mirror. I read Wicked and still have mixed feelings about the book. I'm not sure if it's worth all the hype, personally. I want to know if Mirror, Mirror is the same way.
