For Week 9 of The Immortal Circus Blog Tour, Queen Mab defends her precious Lilith against Oberon!
My dears,
Once more, Oberon slanders my glorious name and reputation. What is more, he dares throw that same slanderous language toward the members of my troupe. Kingston was one thing—that boy could at least defend himself. But to call my dear, sweet Lilith a monster? That is unforgivable.
Just look at her. She is misunderstood. Her speech is ineloquent. I have taken pity on her and taken her in, and even given her a companion in a world that would shun her for her differences. Is she truly a monster? The demon Oberon so unjustly claims?
Or is she, like so many, a child—a female child—churned through the gears of the male-driven status quo?
I had asked her if she would like to defend herself. But she was unwilling to comment. Instead, she ran off into the fields to play with her kitty kat, Poe. Such is the nature of youth; to be faced with hostility and respond with pure emotion.
And my dear Lilith feels a great many things. As we all do.
Right now, I feel offended. I hope you share my views. Let us stand together and strike down the corruption that is Oberon.
