Marking the 15 Year Anniversary of this epic series, the Harry Potter books are getting a brand new look!!

Harry Potter is getting a makeover — no magic wand necessary.A new cover for “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” was unveiled Wednesday, the first of seven new Harry Potter book covers on the way. The new covers will appear on the U.S. paperback edition beginning in September, timed to coincide with the 15th anniversary of the U.S. publication of the first in J.K. Rowling’s mega-successful series.

I love the new cover. But what I have a problem with is how old I feel over this. 15 years ago? Are you freaking serious? Talk about depressing!!

I honestly love the new cover!! I think it’s really cool and a great way to get new potential readers maybe. I can’t wait to see what the others look like!! I will have to get the new set because I am crazy like that and will want the new ones.

Agh!! I LOVE it!! I had no idea they were coming out with new covers, then I saw this post in my FB news feed and was just like, WHAAAAA?!? Haha, I think it is awesome that they are re-doing the cover artwork– like Amy said, this could be a great way to draw in a whole new group of young readers. Anything that will help new readers discover this incredible series is totally worth it!

I like the old version just from being nostalgic, but I think the new cover is much more eye-catching, and like Rhiannon said, *magical*

I really like both covers. I really need to get on reading this series again. It is one of my goals for 2013 to reread this whole series yet I haven’t started it yet. Glad it is only Feb and I still have time to reach this goal.

I LOVE the new cover…. But I do feel like its gonna take away the classic-ness. And its going to hurt my pockets, because I’m going to HAVE to buy them all again with this cover lol

Love the new cover. It looks much more vivid than the first. But I don’t think Diagon Alley sums up the entire novel as well as Harry catching the snitch does. Still impressive cover. Change is awesome!

I love the new covers! More than the original actually. Since I only read them recently I’m not attached the original so I may buy the new ones since my books are old used battered copies anyway.

I usually cringe when I hear about a new book cover but in this case the change is good. It also stays true tot he original concept. Love it.
