Week 1…
Ooooh Chapters 1-6 were soooo freaking AMAZING!!!
1. After reading through Amaliya’s ‘awakening’… So realistic and freaking horrifying right? *shudders* What are your reactions to such a vivid scene?
I was completely horrified for Amaliya… As usual Rhiannon Frater completely turned my world upside down and left me hanging on for dear life after ONE scene. I cannot even imagine going through what she went through and coming out even HALF sane.
At this point, it was hard for me to decipher whether he was just “testing” her… or if he was truly a sadistic SOB with a pretty face and an English accent. I am leaning toward foe though, although I cannot fathom why he made her just to torture her.
Oh… SO many things come to mind. *sigh* How about the time the turkey broke my arm when I was 6? Yeah… the TURKEY. They are viscous dude. Anyway, at the hospital- my Daddy comes storming in, ready to kick @ss and take some names… and the nurse tells him that is was in fact a TURKEY that caused the accident. So HE in turns tells her where she can go… (it’s HOT there) and requests a “competent” medical professional. And that’s when my GRANDMOTHER walks through the doors. In her nightgown (at 2pm) and curlers, and a LIT cigarette hanging out of her mouth. It only gets MORE “redneck meets white trash” after that…
4. Pete… Awww, Pete… He confesses his unending love for her, then everything goes to hell in a hand-basket! Who is/was YOUR Pete? Did you have a guy who was hopelessly in love with you for years that you never even knew about?
hehe… These ARE my questions right? What was I thinking? Okay… I DID actually. His name was Sean, he gave me a heart pencil in 2nd grade, apparently loved me until the 8th grade then got over me when I started dating Daniel (his best friend) LOL He felt the need to tell me all this one day at Target a few years ago. No joke!
5. Have you started connecting with Amaliya? What specific instance stands out the most for you? (hopefully you are LOVING her hardcore by Chapter 6!)
OMG! I am completely and utterly in love with her! In some books you can love a character for having certain traits that you WISH you could have… or even feel a bond with a character even though you have nothing in common… Well with Amaliya, even little bitty things about her- reminded me of myself! She was short, wore heels to compensate, runs when things get tough and WORKED AT SONIC when she was younger!! I love to connect with a character based on the BOND I feel I have with her, and that’s what I did with Amaliya.

Hahaha… Target brings out the romantic in all of us. That's funny though. At least it wasn't in Walmart
Turkeys are vicious. One had my high school brother pinned in the corner of the barn beating him with his wings.
LOLOL! Your answers made me laugh so hard! x) I think I might have to make some awesome bumper stickers for you, Ashley! Like BEWARE OF THE TURKEY. Or maybe THANKSGIVING CAN BITE BACK. Or maybe we'll just stick with your straightforward TURKEYS ARE VISCOUS because that was honestly just awesome! (Not that the turkey broke your arm though!)
OUCH! Hey I totally buy the Turkey did it—I ended up in the ER because the bed pushed me off and/or I was dancing on the bed and fell off. Neither here or there LOLYep I think I thought he was a sadistic SOB from the beginning but I watch a lot of the ID channel so I think almost everyone could be The Killer Next Door or Deadly Women or Who the Bleep did I marry!
I so need to read this book!!!
HAHA- Oh my gosh that turkey story was funny….and your grandma- she sounds like a blast..:D
"It only gets MORE "redneck meets white trash" after that…"OMG! You are awesome! I bet life with your family is never dull, and that is a major plus in my book. I remember when a boy in H.S. gave me a teddy bear and told me he liked me. The bear looked old and it was dirty so I left it under my desk because I was so embarrassed. LOL
Your family get togethers must be wild! Hopefully, the turkey won’t hurt anyone this Thanksgiving.
I'd believe a turkey could be vicious. I've had stare downs with wild ones. But I'd still take a turkey causing an accident than oh, say… tripping over a phone cord and spraining my wrist.I agree that it was hard to decipher whether Amaliya's maker was just testing her or worse, but even if he was just testing… it wasn't in the most friendly way.
I think your turkey story makes my day! That is so epic!
I totally thought this started next week. o_o Gah! I missed it.
Despite reading your blog for MONTHS (think I found you during your 500 follower giveaway, lol!), would you believe that this is my FIRST Rhiannon Frater novel? It shouldn't be the amount you fangirl but having started Pretty When She Dies I totally see what you mean about her turning your world upside down!! Such a frickin' epic writer. And turkey..? Dad.. grandmother.. nightgown.. Oh man you crack me up! I love you! <3 xD
Can I has your family meet half of mine? LOL We could watch behind a 2 way mirror to see who wins!
No turkeys tho. We don't want a repeat…
LOL! Omyigosh chick! You've got some crazy family stories! I totally forgot about this so I only just recently posted…but still…I'm so psyched to be reading along! PWSD is fabulouso!
