So for the last stop on the tour, Ashley and I wanted to put something epic together. I mean really, this much awesomeness all in one spot, it should be spectacular right? Well, instead of the incredible and unforgettable vLog that I had planned, where I take my shirt off and dance (sorry ladies), we came together to do something totally even more badass.
To close of the Shift blog tour, we’re having a cover art battle royal.
Old school VS. New School.
Ashley and I decided to throw a wrench in things and really mix them up. We came together, and have worked our asses off to make a brand new set of covers I think we both love. We should, we made the!. We made something totally different from the original art and we want you, the best readers ever, to vote on them.
So how’s it work and what’s in it for you? Well here it is:

What’s at stake? At the end of the contest, whatever team has the most votes’ wins. From the winning team, we’ll randomly pick 3 winners, and they’ll receive a wicked prize pack with:

Well, since the books aren’t paranormal romance, I’m voting for the old covers. Since I don’t read PNR, I wouldn’t pay attention to the books if they had the new covers. The old cover of Exiled really peaked my interest.
I think the new covers work well for a PNR series though. Very beautiful.

I picked team new school, but it was tough. I really like them both. It was the Shift cover that sold me because of the water element.
I think I am going to have to say I am team Old School!! The New School covers are great too, but the Old School covers go with the story better I think. That is really what makes my decision for me, because I think both are really great. And the New School cover for Exiled! HAWT!!!

This was very hard on me!! I was super torn because the New School covers are so pretty but I had to go with Old School!! The cover of Exiled and Shift are just so different you can’t help but want to pick them up!! I also would love to win the 12×18 because they are kickass!!
You guys have done an amazing job on the new covers, but I have to say that I am still Team Old School. It’s a bit like a cover version of a favourite song that is awesome, but just not the same as the classic you love.

Old school, without a doubt…the stories are gritty and rough-textured, and the original covers represent the fantasy nature of them better than the new.

Wow, amazing job on the new covers you guys! Love the dirty/distressed typefaces you chose, I enjoy them more than the fonts on the originals. I do love the imagery on the original covers though, super haunting and visually interesting. In a rather epic show of indecisiveness I’m going to go with both:)

Ok, when I *FIRST* spotted the cover for Exiled, I though…. “What is the world is with the tree?”.. But, then after reading the book I thought that it fit the book very well. Same with the cover for Shift. Even though the covers are fitting, and I really do love them, I like seeing the new ones!
I love love love the new covers. They say so much about the book, in just the little bit that is on them. The fire, the water. Just love them! So, I had to vote New School. Oh geez, this was a hard decision!!! I was torn because both sets of covers represent the book in a cool and creative way! BUT I had to go old school. (I let my 8 yr old daughter weigh in and she liked #TeamOldSchool for the record.) I am so totally Team Old School. I absolutely love the original covers and I don’t wan to see them replaced. The cover of Exiled is what drew me to the book in the first place. Both Exiled and Shift have such dramatic covers and they really portray what the book is about very well. I love all the elements in the covers and the colors make it all so gorgeous.
Team Old school for sure. Those covers give me the chills and I like that. It makes me want to read them more. Too many models are on books covers now, I like the nature ones.

The Old School version was much more mysterious and would have grabbed me right away. The new ones are too girly.
