The Wild Ones
Passion as hot as midnight in the South and love as wild as the horses they tame.
Camille “Cami” Hines is the darling daughter of the South’s champion thoroughbred breeder, Jack Hines. She has a pedigree that rivals some of her father’s best horses. Other than feeling a little suffocated at times, Cami thought she was pretty happy with her boyfriend, her life and her future.
But that was before she met Patrick Henley.
“Trick” blurs the lines between what Cami wants and what is expected of her. He’s considered the “help,” which is forbidden fruit as far as her father is concerned, not to mention that Trick would be fired if he ever laid a hand on her. And Trick needs his job. Desperately. His family depends on him.
The heart wants what the heart wants, though, and Trick and Cami are drawn to each other despite the obstacles. At least the ones they know of.
When Trick stumbles upon a note from his father, it triggers a series of revelations that could ruin what he and Cami have worked so hard to overcome. It turns out there’s more to Trick’s presence at the ranch than either of them knew, secrets that could tear them apart.

The Bookish Brunette thought:
First I gotta say…
HOLY dear sweet baby Jesus… The Wild Ones is hotter than Kansas on the forth of July. And let me tell you dude, it’s 110 degrees in Kansas on any given day. Hands down one of the hottest books I’ve read all summer!
Cami is home from college for the summer… Trick is home from college (indefinitely, for the time being!), to help out his mom and baby sister because the insurance money from their father’s death has been brought into question by the “higher-ups”.
And after a chance meeting at Lucky’s bar…
“I’ve never seen eyes that make me want to gasp and giggle and do a strip tease all at once.” -Cami
“Trick as in trick or treat? That kind of trick?”
…
“Pick ‘treat’. Please, for the love of God, pick ‘treat’.” -Trick
But Cami doesn’t pick treat (hehe… Right away anyway…) because she’s currently dating BRENT. Whom she’s been dating for the last 18 months and her father, the great and powerful Jack Hines, happens to HIGHLY approve of him.
Turns out that Trick is also working for her father, which makes it nearly impossible to resist the sexiest cowboy since… Well since Channing Tatum wore a cowboy hat for this picture… Uh yeah… Trick is THAT hot, only like a real cowboy. (totally want to break out Urban Cowboy quotes now. Just sayin.)

Anyway…
“I’m a girl charmed by the cobra. I am breathless and mesmerized. And then he grins. Just like that, I’m his. Whether he knows it or not.”
Oooooh but he definitely wants her…. But Daddy has told Trick to keep his distance from his daughter, and for FAR more reasons that just because he doesn’t think he’s good enough for his only daughter! You’d NEVER guess how deep that family rivalry goes… Oh. My. God.
And as I KEEP finding myself doing- I HAVE to mention the pure and utter AWESOMENESS of M. Leighton’s secondary characters!!!!! Rusty (Trick’s best friend) and Jenna (Cami’s best friend) are SO FULL of freaking EPIC that it literally makes me stop to REALLY notice them as characters and players in the game of fiction that Leighton creates!
As if it wasn’t COMPLETELY obvious to God and everyone- I LOVED this book!
Complete with love, secrets, dreams and hidden pasts! The Wild Ones is romantic, sexy and absolutely perfect!!! Drop everything and read this RIGHT NOW!
*intended for “New Adults”… Although I honestly can’t say I would’ve been all that shocked and appalled if I’d have read this at 16…*
