The Immortal Circus by AR Kahler
Publication date: December 4, 2012 by 47North
Murdered contortionists aren’t exactly what Vivienne signed up for when she ran away to join the circus. But like most things under the big top, nothing is what it seems. With a past she can’t quite remember, Vivienne finds that running away forever might not be as appealing as it once sounded—especially not when she realizes the devilishly attractive ringleader Mab is the Faerie Queen of legend…and that she and the rest of the troupe are locked in an age-old rivalry between the otherworldly Courts.
Aided by her friends Kingston—a feisty stage magician whose magic is quickly stealing her heart—and his smart-ass assistant Melody, Vivienne finds herself racing against the clock to discover the culprit behind a series of deaths that should be impossible. However, the answer she seeks might reveal more about her own bloody past—and future—than she bargains for.
The show’s just beginning.
Step right up…

The Bookish Brunette thought:
The Immortal Circus is told in ‘episodes’… This is the review for Episode 2.
At the end of Episode 1, Viv had just saved Mab’s favorite “pet” from certain death. When Viv awakes, she remembers nothing.
Kington and Melody are definitely not in the sort of relationship that was first assumed, and he seems to be falling for Viv. *sigh* Totally saw THAT one coming.
Apparently the summer court is attempting to sabotage Mab’s circus and of course I’m feeling especially angry about this development – as I’m 115% Team Winter.
We find out the real reason Mab created this Immortal traveling Circus… Which I was seriously curious about because I honestly couldn’t understand why the FAERIE QUEEN would be running a circus instead of residing over her court.
Viv is delving deeper into the inner working and shady secrets of The Immortal Circus and now Kingston is seemingly within her reach.
Another unexplained death of a performer sends the crew into turmoil, even more so because the first death has yet to be accounted for.
I’m not really a fan of Viv. I can’t explain it- she seems unreasonably naive and a bit ridiculous as her current situation escalates to extremes while she densely hangs on for the ride.
The Immortal Circus [Episode 2] has spun everything into a deceptive knot of mystery. Episode 3… Here I come.

Immortal Circus teaser:
“Don’t tell me you have a thing for him?” Penelope says, looking over at me with an eyebrow raised.
“I don’t—”
Lilith pipes up then, “Kingston is pretty. I like Kingston. He understands. He burns, too.”
Penelope continues on like Lilith’s not even there.
“Well?” she asks. “Don’t lie. I’m ever so good at picking out lies.”
And I’m ever so shit at lying.
“I guess…yeah,” I say. So much for keeping my cards hidden. Lilith looks at me. One eye twitches, and her expression doesn’t look so blank. “I think he’s nice,” I continue, though under Lilith’s gaze it comes out more as a question.
“Kingston is nice,” Lilith says, and her voice is a dangerous whisper, a frighteningly sane contrast. “Kingston is nice to me, and Kingston is mine.”
