Just so we’re clear… Dante’s mine. He and I have got quite the deal worked out and he’s utterly smitten with me – so everyone is to back away IMMEDIATELY!!!
Alright, with that out of the way, and now that everyone is on the same page…
Dante works for the big man downstairs, collecting souls and kicking ass at it. Him and his fellow collectors are able to live among humans via the gold cuff around their ankle that lets “boss man” know where they are.
He’s been dispatched on his latest assignment- to collect the one soul that will finally earn him his long awaited promotion to Soul Director and he’s ready to rock it like no one’s business. When he first meets his newest acquisition, he’s unimpressed to say the least. But as time goes on, AND after he’s already put her in utmost danger, he realizes she’s given him a reason to WANT something more than he ever has before…
But CAN he have it? And what’s more… Does he DESERVE it?
… Oh yes darling. You most certainly do. *ahem*
Dante has cocky confidence and super hotness to swoon over, but deep down he’s something MORE than he lets anyone to see. And I have super freaking, hardcore LUST love him for it! Yes… In a perfect world my dears, Dante and I would literally be soul-mates or bitter enemies… The jury’s still out!
Charlie… Oh Charlie. The ugly duckling who is destined for far more than she could ever imagine, turned into a beautiful swan who’s fighting a losing battle with the darkest of demons. I really, really loved her… I wasn’t sure at first, because I thought she may be too tame and meek for my preferences. But I was WRONG!
Max is Dante’s best friend… And possibly the best secondary character ever written. No, I’m being absolutely, 100% serious right now! I am high school girl crushing over Max – like AT THIS VERY MOMENT!
“The gold cuff wrapped around his ankle is decorated with Smurf stickers.”
I was in awe of The Collector. There was so much more going on than I expected. An irresistibly tempting hero, a scrumptious love story, and the battle between good and evil is walking a very thin line, and I was completely on board!
A few of Dante’s “Words of Wisdom”:
“I’m so good, in fact, that I train the other five collectors on how to be more awesome.”
“I’ve never met a hurdle I didn’t like.”
“Mr. Awkward rolls up between us, lights a cigarette, makes himself comfortable.”
“I give them two stiff middle fingers. My humble gift on this glorious night.”
“Someone should have warned me about loves dark underbelly, about the rejection and despair.”
The Collector was an enchanting, perfectly addictive first book in the Dante Walker series! Simply FABULOUS! So much awesome shouldnt be contained in one book… But Victoria Scott did it like no ones business!
