When I heard there wasn’t going to be a ‘sequel’ to Possession, I was freaking DEVASTATED. Jag and Vi completely STOLE my heart and then Elana Johnson TORE it out! 
No worries… they’re TOTALLY in Surrender, but I shall give nothing away about them! You’ll have to read it to see what happens!!
Surrender is told in alternating POV’S, in alternating chapters by Gunner and Raine… and you’re going to fall in love with their story too. I know right?
Gunner loves Raine, (Vi’s *roomate*) Director Hightower’s daughter. Raine wants Gunner to join the Insider’s (a group rebelling against the government) but Gunner refuses until the Director decides he wants him to join HIS ranks among the “powerful” and *cough*cough* anything but FREE higher up’s of Freedom’s Association.
Gunner and Raine are NOT supposed to love one another, they both have their designated ‘match’. Yet… each can’t help but fall for the other!
Gunner goes undercover for the Insider’s and ends up with ZENN as his roommate! They break into Thorne’s office to gather information and find a bunch of files on Vi, Raine and *cue the heavenly choir song* … JAG BARQUE!!!!
“Okay, so my genetic ability to control tech was as freaky as Zenn talking to thin air. Whatever.”
Someone has been “helping” Gunn along the way… but he can’t figure out WHO. He decides to risk it all on a whim, and get Jag out all by himself.
“I had one easy thing to accomplish before I left Freedom. Hug my mom.
But I also had one very hard thing: Rescue Jag Barque.”
SQUEE!!! Surrender is filled with awesome! We are privileged with so much more back history than we had in Possession, and I LOVED IT!! It was surprisingly easy to submerge myself back into Elana Johnson’s world of Freedom, Thinker’s, government conspiracies and tragic love.
Fast paced and genuine, Surrender will keep you flipping pages until the wee hours of the morning!
