Cade’s always taken risks…

Cade takes cares of his sick younger sister by doing what he does best–cage fighting and starring in adult movies, his newest harebrained moneymaking scheme designed to pay for his sister’s growing medical bills. But when his latest gig finds him admitted to the ER sporting an erection from hell, thanks to the little pill given to him by the director, he can’t get the pretty little nurse who treated him out of his head, even though he knows she’s so far out of his league it should be illegal.

Alexa’s always played it safe…

Tired of being pigeonholed as the sweet, innocent one, hardworking nursing student Alexa has been looking for ways to break out of her Goody Two-shoes image. When her friend suggests the outlandish idea of losing her virginity to the sexy and sure-to-be-skilled porn star, Alexa is mortified. But then when Cade refuses her proposition, she finds herself pissed off and embarrassed. When she tracks him down to give him a piece of her mind, she isn’t prepared for what she finds. Watching him care for his little sister tugs at her heart, and suddenly it’s no longer just about losing her virginity, but about helping Cade. Because Lord help her, she might actually be falling for a porn star…

The Bookish Brunette thought:
Hard to Love = Short and steamy!

Cade is a boxer, and a roofer/construction worker, but sadly those jobs aren’t covering the super high medical bills of his beloved five year old, baby sister – who he is currently raising. I know! Cue the *awwww’s*…

Cade reluctantly agrees to do an adult film for some quick cash, and a botched first attempt – lands him in the emergency room!

“that didn’t mean I liked another man eyeing my dick with such enthusiasm.”

Alexa, a nursing student and good girl supreme is rendered speechless and completely flustered by the guy in her ward… But she’s ultimately professional and sends him on his way with a clean bill of health.

The plot thickens when she runs into him at the bar, where she’s celebrating her 21st birthday. She can’t deny the undeniable attraction she has to Cade, but they come from entirely different worlds. And she’s about to find out there’s A LOT more to Cade than meets the eye.

Alexa was super sweet, caring, irritatingly naive and borderline ridiculous at times.

Cade is H-O-T. And sweet and selfless and compassionate… and, and, and!!!!!! Seriously I could go on and on about how amazing Cade is!

McKenzie, Alexa’s BFF, was freaking HILARIOUS and off the charts awesome!!!! Maybe there will be a book about her and Ian next??

The sex was hot, the story-line was sweet… I just felt like Hard to Love was a bit rushed and I never really bought in to the character’s relationship… Alexa and Cade spent a total of four on and off nights together and many more weeks and months apart, being angry and hurt by the other … all the while, both were pining away for the other… and this irritated me.

Minus the one minor irritation, Hard to Love was an awesome read, with great characters! I will definitely be reading more by Kendall Ryan!

  1. This sounds like a book I would really like. I love when the friend of the main character is fun and awesome!! Cade sounds yummy!! It’s too bad that they were a bit irritating, but I’m glad that you still really liked it. I have been wanting to get this one.

  2. This sounds like it is different. I am not happy hearing about the relationship. I think it would irritate me as well. Still, sounds like an entertaining read. It also sounds like it should have some good humor in it as well.
